Introduction

Gleemy Labs LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates wisp ("wisp" or the "App"), a desktop companion application for macOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information wisp stores, what information is sent to our services, and how that information is used.

Information We Collect

Data Stored Locally

wisp stores the following data locally on your Mac:

• App Settings: Preferences such as launch at login, menu bar visibility, reminder behavior, photo flash, and dock-drop behavior
• Pet Preferences: Your selected companion and any custom pet names you create
• Reminder Data: Built-in and custom reminder schedules, enabled states, and the last time a reminder was triggered
• Cached License State: Local premium-access cache and last validation time
• Exported Photos: If you choose to save a pet photo, the exported image is written only to the location you select

This local data is not transmitted to our servers unless explicitly described below.

Data Transmitted to Our Servers

If you activate or manage a premium license, wisp may send the following information to our licensing service:

• License Key: To activate premium features and validate your license status
• Device Identifier: A device-specific identifier derived for license activation and device limits
• Device Name: Your Mac's local device name, used to help identify activated devices in license management

If you purchase a license, payment and purchase records are handled by Stripe and our licensing/purchase infrastructure.

The current version of wisp does not collect:

• Browsing history
• Keystrokes or typed content
• Camera or microphone recordings
• Advertising identifiers or analytics telemetry
• The contents of files you save, export, or drag onto the app

How We Use Your Information

• Core App Functionality: To remember your settings, selected companion, reminder schedules, and other local preferences
• License Validation: To activate premium features, verify license status, and enforce device limits
• App Updates: If update checks or downloads are enabled, to check for and retrieve newer app versions
• Customer Support: To help with license-related questions and support requests you send us

Local System Checks

If you enable "Pause During Calls," wisp may inspect your Mac's frontmost application and visible window titles to infer whether a meeting, call, presentation, or screen-sharing session is active.

This check happens locally on your Mac and is used only to pause reminders. We do not send that application or window-title information to our servers.

Data Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell your personal information. We only share information with third parties when needed to run the product or comply with the law, including:

• Payment Processing: Stripe handles payment transactions. See Stripe's Privacy Policy
• Licensing Infrastructure: Our license API receives license activation and validation data such as your license key, device identifier, and device name
• Update Infrastructure: If enabled, wisp may contact the configured update feed and download servers to check for and retrieve app updates
• Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

Data Retention

• Local App Data: Stored until you delete the app data, remove the app, or change your settings
• Saved License Key: Stored in your Mac Keychain until you remove it or uninstall wisp
• Exported Photos: Remain where you saved them until you delete them
• License and Purchase Records: Retained as needed to operate the license system, support your purchase, and comply with legal obligations

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View and manage the settings and reminder data stored on your Mac
• Delete: Remove local app data by changing settings, deleting exported files, forgetting your saved license key, or uninstalling the app
• Manage Activations: Deactivate devices through the license manager when supported by your license
• Contact Us: Ask questions or request deletion of server-side purchase or licensing data where applicable

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• All server communications use HTTPS encryption
• Your saved license key is stored locally in the macOS Keychain
• Most app preferences and reminder data remain on your device

Children's Privacy

wisp is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update this page, notify users in the app, or post a notice on our website.
